Nevada borders five states (Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah). That’s one more than Indiana, which borders four (Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio).

Michigan shares four land borders, plus an additional water border with Minnesota. That’s still less than Pennsylvania, which borders six other states.

Louisiana only borders three states, while Oklahoma borders six.

Idaho and Montana both border each other (and Canada). The former borders six states, while the latter borders just four.

Iowa borders a surprisingly large number of states (six), though Kentucky has the lead with seven state borders.

Florida only borders two other states, including Georgia. The Peach State, meanwhile, borders five states.

Though Texas is much larger than Missouri, it only borders four states. Missouri borders eight states, which makes it tied for the most in the country.

Rhode Island shares a land border with two states, plus a small water border with New York. West Virginia, on the other hand, borders five states.

The larger North Carolina borders four states, including South Carolina, which only borders North Carolina and Georgia.

Located next to one another, these two tiny states both border Pennsylvania. However, Maryland also borders Virginia and West Virginia, whereas Delaware only borders New Jersey.

New York borders six states, which includes a small water border with Rhode Island. New Jersey, on the other hand, only borders three states (including New York).
