What are the districts of Venice, Italy, known as?
Venice, Italy, is divided into six neighborhoods known as “sestieri,” a division that has remained relatively unchanged since the time of the ancient Romans. These districts are San Marco, San Polo, Dorsoduro and Giudecca, Castello, Cannaregio, and Santa Croce. The latter is the only Venetian district where cars and buses are free to roam.
